Engineering crew ( Bass guitar )

Second week of recording we decided to record the Bass guitar, which is the foundation of a song.It produces a frequency bandwidth of 400 Hz to 500Hz and lock in the Kick, when considering recording the bass guitar we had to take note of the mic placement and the room acoustic.

we had a discussion about what microphone will be the best choice for recording and we decided to use the AKG C414 and  AKG D112 and also used a DI box. Using these three options enable us to decided what microphone will sound best.

We compared the DI with the Mic signals and we also compared the AKG 414 with AKG D112 . The DI box was on channel 15 on the desk and for the mic signals , AKG C414  was channel 14 on the desk and AKG D112 was channel 13 on the desk. Both microphones were placed in front of the amp.

After recording, We concluded that the DI and AKG D112 produced  character and it had a smooth feeling,we had a short lecture on pre- roll and also used this function to re-record some parts in the track. .
